Restore points are created once per day and before significant system events such as program or driver installation. If you do not feel this is the case, then you might try turning System Restore off then back on to reset

If these same users who would restore an infected restore point, used drive imaging, they'd restore viruses that way, too. It isn't the software that makes the difference, it's the education. If *turn off System Restore* teaches them anything of value it's by a circuitous and I imagine, unintended route.

Notably the contents of the System Volume Information folder, where System Restore points amongst other things. The default is 12% of the drive which for your drive equates to about 4.58 gb. It is likely that an allocation of 12% has been made to System Restore on your C partition which is over generous.
